Based on Buddhism, International University of Nalanda was established in the vicinity of the ancient university of Nalanda in Bihar, India. This is implemented in partnership with many countries in East Asia which China, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and Japan. The International University offers specializations in areas such as spiritualism, meditation, Buddhists, Vedic texts, science, philosophy, mathematics, management, etc. Recently, the Parliament of India has approved its plans and land purchase..
Member States includes China, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and Japan. During the last visit to India, China President visited the project site for the International University of Nalanda. Former President of India - APJ Abdul Kalam and Amratya Sen won a Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, is currently coordinating the establishment of Nalanda International University in the States.
Currently, the Government of Bihar have already acquired 500 acres of land in the vicinity of the ancient Nalanda University and the development of the University is in the final stage. International University of Nalanda, which must be based on the values of Buddhism and the work target to be completed in two years. This university is suggesting the model of ancient Nalanda University. It must be fully residential and teaching a better education based on human values for the ordinary people of Asian civilizations. It MUST have many schools of the research team in the theme, such as spiritualism, meditation, Buddhists, Vedic texts, science, philosophy, mathematics, management, etc.

Former University of Nalanda is still Attractions for world Buddhism. This World University has been teaching non-violence, meditation and spirituality. It was also the center of technology for manufacturing high quality steel surgical instruments and the study of human body. It was founded in the 5th century. It covers an area of fourteen thousand acres and has many temples and monasteries. There is a small chapel at the University, who still occupy a broken statue of Buddha.
