Charging computer through the solar system is being integrated. In efforts to provide high-tech learning, this computer will be useful to students and small business houses who can not afford a computer with high-tech expensive. In addition to the new computer, a database is created to provide Indian students with useful information that will be available through an inter-institutional.
This computer developed by India would also be considerably cheaper than "$ 100 laptop, lime green computer known as the XO computer for children, which was designed by scientists at the Institute Technology, Massachusetts United States. Some computer experts doubt that a $ 30 computer is not commercially viable. Some say you can not even make a good computer monitor for $ 30. And India is not building hub of computer hardware.Although half of India's 1.20 billion people are under the age of 25, the country has fallen behind in terms of computer hardware, computer technology and internet facility to its students in 18,000 colleges and 400 universities across India. India has a reputation for creating ultra-cheap technology, for example is set by the Tata Nano, the cheapest car in the world at $ 2,000.
A group of engineers from the Indian Institute of Engineering, India have developed cheaper computer this world. The cheapest computer that meets the needs of students and small businesses and industry is developed in the framework of information and communication technologies in the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development.
It uses the Linux operating system and comes with a touch screen. The device can be connected to an external keyboard and monitor and is equipped with Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet. The Indian government has given its approval for its one million products. The government has also invited India- Private partnership to produce similar low-cost computers.
The main features of the computer the cheapest $ 30 developed by engineers from the Indian Institute of Engineering, India is also under.
1. Before the computer, the cheapest hardware that could be done was $ 60 to 70, which is now been reduced to $ 30.
2. The hardware is $ 30 and product of the engineers of the Indian Institute of Engineering and received the full support of Indian government; even an order for 1 million was placed.
3. This computer is thin like a box of pencils and as wide and long as a box of Tiffin children in schools and is very mobile.
4. The hardware specifications, it has an interface with touch screen input with a number of buttons for home, power management, selection and expansion, in-built WIFI support wireless internet, it has a VGA camera integrated in the front. Top-level comments on this article: (8 total)I've read about this device about a month ago, but what I read was skeptical about it actually being produced because apparently there were no manufacturers who had yet to agree to build it.
I'd love to see this actually go into production. I've heard it said that giving Internet access to people is the least expensive way to help them out of poverty. This kind of technology could do exactly that.Bruce Horst,Thank you, sir, for visit and comments.
As per the press release of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) Kapil Sibal ,India. The world’s cheapest computer is for students (both school and college), manufacturing will start in 2011. Now it might just cost INR 1,500 but in starting next year the government wants to sell it to the Indian students at price of INR 500 about $ 10. Can you imagine it can be chipper then a cell phone.
In 2011,3G spectrum already alloted to mobile and interenet service provider shall be in operation . Along with this Computer, internet facilities shall be avaiable to 700 million people living in villages of India..Need something to help me out of poverty. I was thinking metal detector, but hey, this sounds like a reasonable alternative. :)David Levitt, I humbly appreciate your comments and visit.
Bravo India! If the west isn't careful, it's going to lose out completely to countries which make the effort to produce cheaper technology. I'm amazed at the price of that car. The cheapest car in South Africa is about $12,000. I'm surprised people aren't importing them. I'd love to see the motor industry get a serious wake-up call!Jennifer Stewart, welcome to your comment. Cheaper technology is necessary to India. It may not be required in the U.S. is still number one in supercomputing technology.
Nano car in India has a lot of advance booking in India. I think Nano car meets international standards shall be avaiable for international customers from year 2011 onwards and its price continue to be about $ 2000 as being committed by Tata
Thank you for this very informative article GauravDavid Tanguay,Welcome visit and comments ,sir.
More great info Mr.Virk. You make an excellent ambassador to this ethnically divided world of ours. Thank you for your contributions.David Levitt, Thank you. I am a computer science student Techonolgy and human rights and I am here to understand the world.
WOW! I wish I could get one of those-- If you could get one and send it to me, I will gladly pay you Tuesday......
Thanks Gaurav- Always- EllaElla, thank you for visit. As I mentioned , first million pieces are on order of Government and are for students of university India and production is to start in year 2011.India is in process to Private partnership to produce similar low-cost computers for public world wide. I and you are to await for it.
Good try, Gaurav, but a bit difficult to understand the ins and outs of the product other than it might be useful for students. I think a student would rather pay more for a more useful computer. Then again, I don't live in India and don't really know how Indian students feel about cheap products. Is the $2,000 Tata popular?Robert Bregman, Thank you, Sir, for visit and comments.
True - student would rather pay more for a more useful computer.
India is country rich inhibited by poor.About 20% people live in towns and have good money, rather I would say half of money in Swiss bank is said to belong to these people. You can just imagine they have bought $26 billion assests in Europe, press reports says. Most of their children are getting best education with best computer of the world. 80% people live in villages, where even electricity is not avilable regularly. This solar based cheap device with 50% subsity is for education to them, time will tell how much it will be sucessful.
$2,000 Tata Nano car is popular and its production of 2011 is already booked with in India. Additional plants of Tata for Nano car is under eration stage, it is intended to supply world wide.
Sounds like a very interesting product and that many people will be helped by it.
Linda DeWitt,Thank you, for visit and comments.
